I was really down and desperately trying to survive and praying so much to get any help. God sent me a couple of angels to help me out. I got suddenly an answer from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church through Rene and Diana. Thanks to them I could go through one of the toughest moments in my life. They completely understood my needs and helped to start seeing the light. God always shows me He is there for me and I’m so grateful to them for showing up and rescuing me. Thanks again. Forever grateful. God bless.

“From the depths of our hearts, we, the Wambaa family—Samuel, Nancy, Kaia, Nia, and Stella—wish to extend our most profound gratitude to you. Words feel insufficient to express the immense impact your kindness has had on our lives after the devastating fire that took everything from us.

In a moment when we felt lost and stripped of all we had built, you stepped in—not just with words of comfort, but with tangible acts of love that reminded us we were not alone. You turned what could have been an unbearable season into one filled with hope, warmth, and the undeniable presence of God’s grace.

Because of your generosity, our family experienced a joyous Christmas—one that brought light to the hearts of our daughters when they needed it most. Your selflessness restored the simple joys that every child deserves, and for that, we will forever be grateful.

You went beyond meeting immediate needs; you rebuilt a sense of home for us. The furniture you provided gave us the ability to live with dignity in a space that once felt empty and uncertain. Your financial support ensured that we could remain in our new housing, lifting an overwhelming burden off our shoulders.

Your hands and hearts have truly been an extension of God’s love, working in ways that words alone cannot capture. You have embodied what it means to be the hands and feet of Christ, showing up in one of our darkest times and reflecting His light.

We pray that God continues to bless each of you and the incredible work you do at the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, St Augustine Catholic Church conference. May He multiply your kindness and pour into your lives as you have poured into ours and so many others facing hardships.

With overflowing gratitude and love,

The W. Family

Inspired by Gospel Values, the Society of St Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually in their service to those who are needy and suffering. Believing we are all created in God’s image, we offer assistance with empathy, trust and friendship, while preserving the utmost dignity of our friends in need.

As a reflection of the whole family of God, our members — called Vincentians — are drawn from every ethnic and cultural background, age group, and economic level. Vincentians are united in an international society of charity by their spirit of helping the less fortunate. Nourished by prayer, members embrace the lonely, the forgotten and the alienated and provide service to anyone in need.

“I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brethren of mine, you did for me”

Matthew 25:40

Feed. Clothe. House. Heal.

The SVdP Conference of St Augustine was founded in 2012 and is one of 125 St Vincent de Paul conferences in Los Angeles seeking to find the forgotten, the suffering and the deprived.

Our members hold up the memory of St. Vincent de Paul, apostle of the poor, as we serve the needy, the suffering, the homeless, the sick, the elderly, and prisoners who are in need of kindness and God’s love. By helping those in need, we offer hope to individuals & families, and provide a chance for them to recover from hardships, often preventing them from falling into homelessness.

Unlike other charities, family home visits have always been a fundamental pat of the Society of St Vincent de Paul. Our goal is to meet the family, assess their situation, determine their need, and provide the most appropriate help we can. We work closely with shelters and food pantries in our area as well as the Culver City Homeless Committee to keep up-to-date with all resources available to our friends in need.

We are very active in our community and make a monthly outreach for the homeless, providing them with basic necessities as well as kindness and prayer.

With the help from our donors we are able to send children of the families we serve to a summer camp where they enjoy a week of fun, learning, and most importantly the opportunity to just be a kid.

We are a 501(c) charity and 100% of your donation goes to the folks we serve. Please check out our calendar for upcoming fund-raiser and outreach events in the near future.

Donate: How to Give & Volunteer

Your financial donation will help our members provide assistance to the poor and the most needy in our community. Your generosity goes to help a neighborhood friend or family that is experiencing a financial hardship. We provide rental assistance, gift cards for gas or groceries, payments for past-due utility bills, clothing, etc.

Together we can make a difference for the most needy. With your partnership, our Vincentians have the resources to assist the men, women and children in our community who look to us for help.

100% of your donation goes to our friends in need. We take care to to respectfully verify the legitimacy of all our client claims before providing assistance so that each dollar goes into the hands of those in most need.
